AWAKE, AWAKE, AWAKE, I AM AWAKENED [Text]

For me, sleeping is such a delight. Every morning, I am drawn to linger on, cuddling in this fantastic sweetness, full of multi-dimensional colorful dreams. Once I am up and awake, it is a whole different reality… Sleep is far away from me, activity fills me and I tend to put off the moment when I would spread out over the soft bed once again.

This has been going on for years (the years of my life), awakeness and sleep flirting and competing in the primetime of my life.

In the last decade, which has filled my life with spiritual existence, these notions of ‘awakeness’ and ‘sleep’ got different meanings, colors and depths.

The non-linear journey that has brought me closer to my inner source, to the root of my soul, beyond illusion, provided me with many occasions to deal with the question: what really exists and how do we live it???

During this period of my life, I have encountered different streams of various traditions all flowing to the same primary source, represented by teachers, healers, students and passers-by. Some of them were immersed in the practice itself, each at his/her own level, and some aspired for mastery– Enlightenment, Awakening.

Being awake, being awake, as much as possible.

In our era, many books have been written about Enlightenment and Awakening arising from connecting and understanding the true nature of our soul. The mystical traditions describe it as the powerful point where the one and only Truth existing behind all things is revealed.

The modern philosopher and cultural researcher, Terence McKenna, wrote:
Ultimately what we’re touching is the invisible, all-pervasive Intelligence that surrounds us and penetrates us. It is grooming us to be able to tolerate its splendor. It can’t just reveal itself openly because we would be forfeited; we’d never know what hit us.

And in other more personally flavored words:
Every sensible person would sooner or later ask him/herself:
“Who are the lead actors of this movie?”
Most of us have already realized that the reality we touch is The Great Mystery, The Ultimate Unknown; an enormous omniscient collective consciousness that us and our consciousness, both as a whole and as individuals, are an inseparable part of. During our evolution, we are exposed to this consciousness, little by little, in line with our capacity to encompass its radiating power. With each stage of advancing, additional parts of the bigger picture are revealed to us.
The system we were blessed with, our neural-emotional-sensory system, is capable of containing and processing a certain amount of information at a time. Seeing and understanding the bigger picture is an exceptional state of Super-Consciousness. Reality is composed of an immense amount of numerous details, consisting of colors beyond the visible scale, sounds beyond the audible scale and different frequencies we were not designed to sense.
A full and open exposure of this Super-Consciousness can instantly paralyze our physical, emotional and mental systems. In fact, I seriously doubt that it can happen at all, since historically and mythologically it seems that from the very beginning, this consciousness had been divided into diverse realities and entities in the body and in time and space. Enigmatic worlds.

I find much truth in this observation. I find the essence of true awakening in it, or at least the collective, common, accessible and mostly necessary version, directing us humans.

Awakening occurs in any given moment and point in life, in each beat and every breath, and just like many other things in nature, it takes on the form of a wave composed of contraction and expansion, peaks and valleys. It is not a one-time experience but rather a continuous sequence of expanding consciousness, which is actually made possible in view of the banality of existence, equivalent to a sacred absorbing space blessing with its attention all things existing.

There is one thing to awake to: the One God, the God of Oneness and Unity, the deep understanding that we are composed of a single all-knowing collective consciousness. The sum of all our parts. The world-view of one God, or one Truth, refers to the same one that includes all truths and all sanctities, from which flow a fountain of life, countless chants, infinite continuous glowing beats. And within it, live in harmony and peace right and wrong, true and false, good and bad.

The greatest illusion we must wake up from is the Illusion of Separation, including the one separating day and night, light and darkness, sleep and awakeness. The basic guidelines of the All-Knowing Consciousness have presented us with this kind of Being, allowing us the space to enter it. The removal from Paradise is a translation of the initial version which created separate worlds by dividing day and night.

Separation shadows our notion of wholeness by keeping the individual away from his/her personal recognition of being inseparable from the continuous sequence in time and space.

In view of the endless kiss with the hidden Unknown, it is only logical that separation does not exist, since we have no idea what the Unknown is composed of and how much of it lives within us, acts and co-creates our world and being.
In fact, this notion appears also in view of bare reality, apparent to us and within us. We create the reality of our life in any given moment – the individual together with all existing consciences, with the universal collective consciousness. With every action and deed, as well as with every thought, emotion and idea, we co-create a part of the multidimensional puzzle of the reality we live in.
And so, what lies at the base of Awakening is the realization that we are whole as parts within Wholeness, and the continuing path to and from this notion is the focusing of our attention on the numerous aspects of our co-creation. It would be a dull awakening if it is not directed to harmonious co-existence – whether with close family members, friends, colleagues, animals or the Great Mystery.
‘Harmony’ means relationships that nurture both individuals and the whole in a space of existential presence allowing unity that evolves from diversity.
The nature of awakening, along with enlightenment (=in light in men), is the containing of all the waves as a single harmonious wave; its nature lies in the perception of unity as wholeness. Therefore, just as it is possible in one moment, it is possible in any given moment, with our attention to thoughts, emotions and actions, and to the codes, the unknown and the known facts of life everywhere around us. Just as it exists in one’s consciousness, so does it exist in the collective consciousness. Just as it is experienced in the crown of thousand petals, so is it experienced in all of existence, in all its aspects.
Buddha described it in the words: I am all entities, all things and all beings that achieved great realization.
The shamans lived and created reality in clear dreams.
Muhammad said: There is no Truth until you wish for the other what you wish for yourself.
The great Kabbalists have repeated the verse – Love thy friend as you love yourself.
There is no separation; this is the nature of Creation.
